Finn credits Conchords' success to Murray's management
Neil Finn has reacted magnanimously to being pipped in the US album charts by Flight of the Conchords - and he blames Murray."That's fantastic, our big best wishes to them. Great songs, good humour, sex appeal - they've got it all," said Finn from the States where he is on tour with a reunited Crowded House. The band's 1986 debut album peaked at number 12 in the American charts making it the highest placing by a New Zealand artist.FOTC's album of comedy songs from their show entered the charts this week at number three."But actually I give full credit to management, Murray really knows what's going on." he said. "We might have to give him a call."Murray, the pair's hopeless manager moonlighting from his job at the New Zealand consulate is played on the show by Auckland comedian Rhys Darby who has his own song - Leggy Blonde - on the hit album.Finn appeared as himself on the duo's 2005 BBC Radio series, a precursor to their HBO television show set in New York, on episodes where he was pestered for advice by Murray.
